Books I'll Be Reading This Spring

Tuesday, March 9, 2021

Hello, bookworms!

Google tells me that Spring isn't officially until March 20th, but as you can see with the new spring header on the blog, I've decided that spring is here early because winter has been way too miserable!

There are a ton of new books releasing in this second quarter of the year that I'm excited to dive into. I thought I would share with you some of the titles that I'm most excited about. Who doesn't love a good book list?

I know there are probably a lot more books releasing, but these were the ones with already revealed covers I could find on my "would-sell-kidney-for" shelf on Goodreads. These are all out between March 20th and June 30th. It's a mix of romance, mystery, and YA! Enjoy looking at the pretties!

by N.G Peltier
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Self-Published
Publication Date: March 30th 2021

I just started reading Sweethand and I'm so excited! First of all, I love this cover. Secondly, the main character, Cherisse is a pastry chef - you know how it is for me when it comes to pastries! The book also has a wedding and bickering enemies. You know I'm 100% here for it!

by Uzma Jalaluddin
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Berkley Publishing
Publication Date: April 6th 2021

I loved Ayesha at Last, so I'm hyped to read Hana Khan Carries On. This is a You've Got Mail retelling and features a romance between two rival restaurant owners. It sounds like a lot of fun!

by Martha Waters
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Berkley Romance
Publication Date: April 6th 2021

I adored Martha Water's regency romance debut, To Have and to Hoax and I was hoping the side characters would get their own books. To Love and to Loathe is Diana and Jeremy's story and it involves a house party where the two begin an affair so that that Diana can critique Jeremy's bedroom skills. How fun!

by Ruby Barrett
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Carina Press
Publication Date: April 6th 2021

One of my secret kinks is office romance (well, I guess it's not a secret anymore) and Hot Copy promises a steamy office + age-gap romance. Ruby Barrett has been sharing snippets of this book over on her Twitter and my body is READY for it!

by Sarah Hogle
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: G.P Putnam's Son
Publication Date: April 6th 2021

I'm not even sure what this book is about? I think it has a grumpy hero and a sunshine heroine + some kind of mansion. I don't care! Sarah's writing is stellar so I will read anything she writes.

by Mia Sosa
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Audible
Publication Date: April 8th 2021

I love Mia Sosa's writing and her books! For me, she writes true rom-coms. I've also been enjoying Audible's novellas a lot, so this collab is a dream come true! Sun of a Beach (love the punny title!) is the story of two work frenemies who are stuck on an island! Can't wait for all the shenanigans!

by Alanna Martin
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Berkley Romance
Publication Date: April 27th 2021

I know this has a romance and obviously, I'm excited about the romance too, but I am mostly looking forward to Hearts on a Leash for the huskies!! I mean, look at their cute little faces!

by Mia P. Manansala
Genres: Mystery, Adult
Publisher: Berkley Publishing
Publication Date: May 4th 2021

This is the only mystery on my list, but I am hyped! I'll admit, my primary reason for adding Arsenic and Adobo to my TBR is because of that little sausage dog on the cover! But then, I read the summary and it sounds pretty fantastic. The MC, Lila, becomes embroiled in a murder case when a nasty critic of her Tita's restaurant drops dead. I love a good whodunit, so I'm looking forward to reading this.

by Alexis Hall
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Forever Romance
Publication Date: May 4th 2021

I asked Alexis Hall if he wrote Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake specifically for me because BAKING and he said yes! He was being nice, but seriously, does this not scream "Nick book" with that cover and concept? There's a competitive baking show that Rosaline, the single-parent MC, participates in and Alexis promised a cinnamon roll hero! I'm all about it.

by Stacey Lee
Genres: Historical, YA
Publisher: G.P Putnam's Son for Young Readers
Publication Date: May 4th 2021

I love Stacey Lee's books so much and I know Luck of the Titanic will probably devastate me, but I'm here for this brand of pain. It's about twin British-Chinese acrobats traveling on the Titanic when tragedy strikes.

by Alyssa Cole
Series: Runaway Royals
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Avon
Publication Date: May 25th 2021

Hello! It's a new Alyssa Cole book! How can I resist? How to Find Princess also promises a fake marriage, a long-lost princess, and the only one-bed trope! It's also an Anastasia retelling and I don't think I've ever read one of those.

by Alexandria Bellefleur
Series: Written in the Stars #2
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Avon
Publication Date: May 25th 2021

Hang the Moon tells Brendon and Annie's story. Both of them appeared as important secondary characters in Written in the Stars. I adored Alexandria's debut so I have high hopes for this second book by her. I love that Brendon is the one determined to teach Annie that romance is not dead! I think I'm going to adore this and I truly can't wait!

by Jen Frederick
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Adult
Publisher: Berkley Romance
Publication Date: May 25th 2021

I have been waiting for a new Jen Frederick book for what feels like forever! This one sounds like it will be an emotional read, with the main character, who is a Korean adoptee running off to Korea to find her roots. I've never been to South Korea, but it's on my list of top 5 travel destinations. I'm looking forward to "visiting" Korea through this book!

by Rachel Lynn Solomon
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, YA
Publisher: Simon Teen
Publication Date: June 1st 2021

I loveeee Rachel Lynn Solomon and I love this cover so stinking much! I really enjoy books with wedding planning and weddings for some reason. Quinn's family in We Can't Keep Meeting Like This are wedding planners and Tarek's family are caterers so the two often meet at weddings. Right before Tarek goes off to college, Quinn reveals her crush on him in an email - he never responds. Now, he's back for the summer and they keep running into each other. Ugh. It sounds so cute and romantic and I'm very excited to read it!

Let's chat!
