January 2021 Recap

Monday, February 1, 2021

Hi, friends!

I hope you're all doing well. How is it that the 1st month of 2021 has already gone by but it also feels like January was one LOOOONG month? I don't know about you guys, I am struggling. The self-isolation (I live alone), the winter blues, and the stress from the world being an absolute nightmare are all getting to me. I've had some pretty rough days and my school work is suffering. I'm thankful that I have an understanding mentor, but I don't know how to deal with the guilt of not being any kind of productive.

I've been avoiding all that weird negative energy by seeking out my comfort reads. I've been doing a lot of re-reading as well as reading lots of historical romances. It's been nice and I've had a good month based on the rating stats. In my blogging goals post, I had mentioned wanting to take it easy this year and going more with the flow, and so far, it's working for me.

I also revived my Instagram account and have been spending a lot more time there! I do dessert and book cover pairings because I have no patience to take actual photos. I do love finding the perfect dessert combinations, so I'm having a lot of fun. It's also helping me not spend as much time on Twitter. Instagram is not perfect, but I don't feel like it's as much of an echo-chamber as Twitter can be. Anyways, if you don't follow me yet, please give me a follow! 😄
