The Weekly Recap (51): When Mom Makes Fun Of My Cooking & GBBO Is Back!

Hi friends!

I hope everyone is doing well! Where did this week go? I can't believe my time at home is quickly coming to an end. In two weeks time I will be on my way back to starting classes. This honestly felt like a nonexistent break but I guess that's because I was working full time? *sigh* I am admittedly NOT ready to go back just yet, but alas!

I wanted to thank you all for the kind words regarding my grandma last week. She was admitted again to the hospital on Sunday night, but she's now back home. My uncle and father hired a full-time home nurse for her so it's a relief knowing that she will be looked after at all times of the day. It's tough for her too because she can't move or walk at all and my dad says the frustration of that is getting to her. We all just want her to get better now.

This week wasn't very eventful. My mom and I just chilled at home when I wasn't working. Remember how I told you guys how I made dinner for her last week and she acted all shocked? Well, this week, I made her an Indian chicken curry that incorporates pureed spinach. All day she made fun of me for cooking "poop" because the pureed spinach gives it uhh ... an interesting color. Then, she actually proceeded to eat the whole thing and couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was! -_-

Who is excited that the Great British Bake Off is back? I know I certainly am and super grateful that Netflix is uploading the episodes the same week it airs in the UK. I love this show because it is so wholesome and pure even though it is a stressful situation. I highly recommend it! Did you all see ALL the news about the shows and movies coming to Disney+? Guys, I told myself I would not get a subscription plan, but the minute I heard about Lizzie McGuire, I gave in ... Anyone else? All these subscriptions are going to break my bank account! Everyone needs to stop!

Here are my reading updates for the week:
Week In Reading

The Downstairs Girl Say Yes Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove, #1) Love on Lexington Avenue (Central Park Pact, #2) Getting Schooled (The Wright Brothers, #1)

So, since last week, I've been craving YA books. I went this whole year not really reading any YA and then this week, boom! I loved The Downstairs Girl by Stacey Lee. It was a powerful and lovely read. Serpent & Dove was also AMAZING, you guys. It's an enemies-to-lovers + marriage-of-convenience between a witch and a witch hunter. The book was really good! I also read Say Yes, a short story from EK. It was another fun read. I finally picked up Love on Lexington Avenue. I liked this one more than the first. Finally, I'm in the middle of Getting Schooled and it's really fun so far. I love how much it's making me laugh.
