The Weekly Recap (49): A Good Reading Week

Sunday, August 18, 2019

Hi all!

I hope you're all doing well. My week was mediocre. I worked and attended a bunch of online meetings. I've also been studying in preparation for finding a dissertation topic. I think I've narrowed it down to what I want - I just need to chat about it with my advisor and try to get a feel of what she thinks. I'm dealing with some other news that I'm not comfortable sharing yet. I would really appreciate a prayer or positive thought you could spare for my family, please. It's been a very tough week and we could do with some positive vibes.

I've been watching YouTube videos in order to distract myself. It's silly, but they've brought me temporary joy. Many thanks to Flying The Nest's travel vlogs and Jenna Marbles' vlogs about her hilarious weirdo dogs.

Here are my reading updates for the week:
Week In Reading

One Day to Fall The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club, #1) Stealing Home Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare

I had a wonderful reading week with two 4.5-5 stars reads. One Day to Fall and The Bromance Book Club nearly put me in a book slump with how good they were! I also liked Stealing Home, overall, but I do think reading it after two excellent books probably tainted by experience just a little bit. I've been meaning to read Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series, but friends, I think I might have to give up. The second was so hard for me to get into. I feel clueless about what's going on and worst of all, I don't seem to care all that much about the love interest. :( I have a feeling I'll have better luck with the Psy-Changeling books, so I'm going to give those a try. After my lackluster experience with Archangel's Kiss, I wanted to read a 2019 favorite, so I re-read The Wallflower Wager.
Week In Book Haul

Only one book this week and it's one I'm super excited about! :) Thanks to all the wonderful publishers & authors for the review/finished copies!
