Hi all!
I hope you're all doing well. I'm back to blogging after my hiatus. I needed the break to focus on studying for my comprehensive exams. The exams are important as they determine whether you can move forward in the doctoral program. They were 4 hours long with two days back-to-back and covered topics from 8 courses. Although I felt okay going into the exam with a normal amount of stress, they were incredibly hard and I was sure that I didn't do as well on one of the days. I'm happy to say though that my classmates and I all passed the exams. :)
After how hard this year was, I needed a break from the school environment which is why I got on a flight to home last Wednesday. Two long days of travel later, I arrived last Friday. I immediately sensed a feeling of relief as I landed. I am happy to spend some time with my parents and also escape the excruciating heat in the US for a few weeks. I do still have to work and move forward with my research, but thankfully, I can do that remotely. I'm unfortunately still jet-lagged. An 8 hours difference is no joke, so I spent this entire week feeling groggy. At least I have good food to keep me well-fed? I look forward to being over this jet-lag though so I can actually be awake and go to the beach.
Here are my reading updates for the week:
Week In Reading

After a month of not reading, it felt nice to pick up some books and read through them. I enjoyed all of these with the exception of The Wedding Party. Unfortunately, I think I am over Jasmine Guillory's books.
