I'll never shy away from reading a Sarina Bowen book. I've loved quite a few books from her and this hockey series of hers is one of my favorites. Superfan did not work as well as Bowen's books. I didn't dislike the book, but I wouldn't say I loved it either.

Take this review with a grain of salt because I am fairly biased when it comes to romances with superstars. I will say that Sarina created the antithesis of what we typically see with celebrities in this book with Delilah. She was genuine and sweet and a good person at heart with immense talent and ambition. Silas, her love interest, was equally lovely and kind. He was supportive and devoted and an all-around patient guy. It's hard not to want to care for either of these characters because they are very likable in every way.

That being said, I think where this faltered for me was the actual relationship between Silas and Delilah. There was nothing inherently wrong with it, but I wanted to feel more. I felt that when it came to emotional elements of the romance, Superfan was lacking. I wanted to feel a stronger connection between Silas and Delilah. I wanted more intensity. I wanted more oomph. I also felt fairly detached from the plotline in Superfan. In particular, I did not care for Delilah's story with her ex-boyfriend and his involvement in her career.

Ultimately, Superfan was not my favorite book from this author. I still recommend it to fans of the series and Sarina Bowen, but if you're new to her, I recommend Bittersweet, which is my favorite book from her!
