Talia Hibbert has quickly become one of my go-to contemporary romance authors. After meeting and falling in love with Zach and Rae in Untouchable, I was very eager to read their story. Talia delivered in every way with That Kind of Guy. It was emotional, romantic, and so compulsively readable. I was hooked!

Both Rae and Zach were fantastic characters. Talia spends a lot of time fleshing them out so that they are rich and layered. You really get to know them on a familiar level and I completely grew to love them. Zach has a reputation around Ravenswood for being a bit of a manwhore but what people don't realize is that he is demisexual. I connected very much with Zach and his feelings towards his sexuality. He was frustrated and vulnerable, but very much comfortable in his identity. He wants to leave his manwhore days behind and fully embrace his demisexual identity, which means he only desires sexual intimacy if he is involved emotionally with his partner. Zach was a total dreamy sweetheart and I loved him so so much. Honestly, he has got to be at the top of my favorite book boyfriends. Rae is the older heroine, who has recently separated from her husband. She is a wickedly talented writer who has been a bit down on her luck lately. Rae was so lovely and endearing. She was pretty badass in a way. I liked that she had no time for people's pity and was didn't let annoying people's opinions put her down. She was incredible and I had nothing but love and respect for her. Also, that giant fluffball of hers was just a scene-stealer! What a cutie!

The romance between Zach and Rae was just so swoony from the very start. They've been best friends for a while now and they were very comfortable around each other. Rae is very attracted to him,  because well, look at that cover model! Can you blame her? She doesn't know about Zach's sexuality though and the conversation they had when he opens up about it was so thoughtful. It just went and proved why these two were perfect for each other. There were plenty of delicious tropes in That Kind of Guy, all tropes that I love including friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, and fake-relationship. Rae has to attend a convention that her ex-husband is also attending and Zach offers to attend with her. They grow closer during the convention and intimacy beyond friendship grows between them. I just freaking loved them together. I was also very excited to see some of the characters from the previous Ravenswood books. I love the kinship between these guys and it's another reason why this series has been so stellar for me.

That Kind of Guy is the last book in the Ravenswood series which makes me a little sad, but Talia Hibbert has a fun new romance series coming out from Avon starting this fall. While you wait for that one to release, be sure to pick up That Kind of Guy and the rest of the Ravenswood series if you want to experience an amazing romantic ride.
