If you were to ask me who my favorite author is, I'd tell you in a heartbeat that it's Lisa Kleypas. She's an author whose works I value tremendously, not only because they are outstanding, but also because she is the author who got me invested in romance. Devil's Daughter was one of those books that I knew even before going in that I would love. I'm happy to report that my gut was not wrong and that Lisa Kleypas showed yet again why she sits firmly at the top of my favorite authors list.

Kennedy and Kate's book! FREAKING FINALLY! I don't need to tell you guys how much I adore Lauren Layne's books because everyone already knows that. BUT THIS BOOK. I was so looking forward to reading it because the tension this couple had in the prior books was just fire emoji! While I wasn't entirely satisfied with how things played out in Huge Deal, I still enjoyed reading it because it's LL after all!

For years now I've been hearing about how great Elizabeth Hoyt's books are. Even though I am a huge fan of historical romance, I think it took me a while to pick up anything from her because I didn't know where to begin. Now that I've read my first book from her, Not the Duke's Darling, well, I'd like to bang my head against a wall. I did not think this book was perfect, but it was enjoyable enough that I will be reading more of this author.

I am bummed to only be giving this book 3 stars. While I was reading the first book in Elle Kennedy's spinoff series, I was just dying to read Brenna and Jake's book. So, I eagerly awaited the release of The Risk. While I enjoyed the book overall, it wasn't exactly the hit that I was hoping for.

I'm really glad that Zoey Castile (a.k.a Zoraida Cordova) has taken the leap into writing adult romance books because her voice is very addictive. Hired, the second book in her Happy Endings series, was just as engrossing as her first romance book, Stripped. These books are full of steamy, delicious and romantic goodness.

I had an inkling shortly before I picked up 99 Percent Mine that I wouldn't like the book. You see, I really loved The Hating Game, but I recently picked it up again and disliked it for some reason. I couldn't tell if it was my mood or if the book was not that well-written.

*clears throat* *taps mic* Is this thing on?

Hi guys! Wow, it's been a while, huh? Almost 4 months to be exact, because that's how long I've been working now and my reading time just went *makes airplane crashing motion* down. I've set my 2019 Goodreads reading goal to a small, realistic 150 books and it was the right decision because it's February 2nd today and I've only read like 15 books.

Anyway, in this post I'm sharing the books I've read and loved so far this year.

I don't remember when exactly I learned about Appetites & Vices, but I do remember feeling this desperate desire to read it. Historical romance is one of my favorite sub-genres and fake-relationships is one of my favorite tropes of all-times. So a combo of two of my favorite things was bound to have me all pumped to read this book. Luckily for me, it turned out to be an engrossing story that I couldn't put away!
