Well, folks, it's a done deal. I am willing to sell my soul for anything and everything that Alyssa Cole writes. After adoring the first book in this series, A Princess In Theory, I knew this companion novel was going to be a hit for me. I mean, just look at the two beautiful people on that cover! Do they not give you shippy feels that you want to drown in??? I am beyond thrilled to say that the inside of A Duke by Default was even more glorious than the outside. I know I am notorious for always pushing books on you guys, but friends, when I say ALL of you need this book in your life, I truly do mean it.

I used to be a big fan of Kasie West's contemporaries when she first entered the YA scene, but with her last couple of books, I had become quite a bit disillusioned from her writing. In fact, I'd told myself that I had no interest in reading her new books. While on vacation though, I randomly felt like picking up a YA and this one was available at the library. I'm glad I did because the book was sweet and charming and gave me old Kasie West feels.

I can always count on Lauren Layne to deliver a charming story to take my mind off things for a couple of hours a day. Though I wasn't the biggest fan of the previous book, The Oxford series remains one of my favorite series from her. Going into I Think I Love You was a bit of a bittersweet experience since this was the last book, but I thought Layne wrapped it up solidly.

Roni Loren has fast become a favorite author for me. Her book The Ones Who Got Away struck a chord with me and I was eagerly anticipating the follow-up companion novel, The One You Can't Forget. While slightly different in tone from the first book, The One You Can't Forget was another stellar read from Roni Loren. This is definitely a book that's going to my re-read pile.
