Well, wasn't this an absolute blast to read? I may not be the biggest fan of books about royalty in contemporary settings, but I am a big Rachel Hawkins fan. With her signature wit and a whole lot of royalty shenanigans,
Royals was just pure fun to read.
Daisy Winters is a regular American teenager who really wants nothing to do with the spotlight her sister, Ellie, is in the midst of. You see, Ellie is engaged to be married to the Crown Prince of Scotland, so her every move is scrutinized. All of a sudden, Daisy is whisked off to Scotland and is forced to deal with arrogant bluebloods and their extra af lifestyles. Daisy was the perfect heroine for
Royals. She's smart, hilarious and so witty! Girlfriend had me cracking up throughout the book with how sassy she could be. Her relationship with her parents, especially her dad, had me grinning like a fool! The best part of
Royals for me was Daisy's relationship with her sister. With the constant attention Ellie has gotten thanks to her newly engaged status, their relationship was a little frayed. But underneath it, all was a deep loyalty between the two. I loved the subtle glimpses we had to the adoration between the two. Their bond was certainly the driving force of
Royals.
